August Peter Rouvieri died November 11, 1916, at his home in Osage, City, Kansas, at the age of 73 years and 6 days.
He was born November 5, 1843, at LaDouche, Department of Ardesche, France, and served seven years the French army. From 1870-1871, he was in the Franco-Prussian War. During the war, where he was taken prison and confined for eight months.
On August 16, 1873, he left Bissiges, France for Canada, and arrived September 25. He was a miner, by trade, and for six years he worked the coal mines, there. On September 25, 1879, he left Canada for Kansas, arriving October 1.
He was married February 8, 1873, to Adelaide R. Colin, and eight children were born. Six boys and two girls, four have died.
He leaves his wife, and the children: Alphonse, Mrs. Emma Didier of Osage City, Kansas, Noel of Mulberry, Kansas, and Mrs. Joe Bowers of Admire, Kansas. Also, one brother and two sisters.
