Doris E. "Honey" Huffman, 83, of Cragle Hill Road, Shickshinny, passed away Friday morning at her home following a brief aggressive illness.
She was a daughter of the late Marshall and Leota Kessler Davenport.
Her Husband, Ronald Huffman, passed away on Aug. 22, 2008, after sharing 55 years of marriage.
Early in life, Honey was employed at several jobs and drove truck for Price's Greenhouses, Nanticoke, for many years until retiring.
She was a member of Bethesda Congrgational Church, Kingston, as well as Ladies Independant Order of Reindeer. In her spare time, she enjoyed creating different types of crafts, quilting, sewing and crocheting, mostly to give away as gifts to her family and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ronald, she was preceded in death by her son, John Shields, in 2004; and brothers, Rich and Kenny Davenport.
She will be missed by her children, Richard Shields and wife, Vanessa, Plymouth, Twp.; Thomas Shields and wife, Debbie, Hanover Twp.; Tammi Burke and Gale Grey, Shickshinny; and Randy Huffman and wife, LeeAnn, Hunlock Creek; grandchildren, Ricky Jr., Keith, Kyle, Shelby, Cheyenne and Tristan; great-grandchildren, Patrick, Becky, Kendra and Cameron; great-great-granddaughter, Marcy; brothers, Larry Davenport, Jack Davenport and wife, Vicky and Bob Davenport; and several nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Interment will be in Perrins Marsh Cemetery, Centermoreland.
Arrangements are in the care of Clarke Piatt Funeral Home Inc., Hunlock Creek.
