BROOKSVILLE, FL – Ed Cranford Hathcock, age 88, of High Point Senior Community passed peacefully from temporary life on earth to life eternal in heaven on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, seven months after his wife's passing on Christmas Eve, 2020. A native of Albemarle NC, Mr.. Hathcock was born August 1, 1932, to the late Edd Lily Hathcock and Evye Clegg Cranford Hathcock.

On August 22, 1952, he married Betty Austin Howell. They shared life together for 68 years.

Their marriage produced three children: a son, Rev. Darrell Cliff Hathcock of London, KY; a daughter, Karen Evonne, and husband Frank, Jurius of Apex, NC; and a son, Lloyd Van Hathcock who passed away Nov. 7, 2013. Other survivors are: three grandchildren, Sarah Anne Hathcock of London; Joshua Daniel and Cari Jurius of Pittsboro, NC; Rebecca Katelyn and Cameron McIlquham, of Saginaw, MI; and four great-grandsons: Judah, Luke, Bentley and Gabriel Jurius. Also surviving is one sister-in-law, Brenda Hatley Hathcock of Asheboro, the widow of Col. Allen Conrad Hathcock.

He was a member of Spring Hill (FL) Baptist Church.

A dual memorial service for Ed and Betty Hathcock will be planned in North Carolina at a later date.
