It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Micheal (Mike / George / Bear) at the age of 57 after a short stay in the hospital. Micheal was born in Barrhead on August 16, 1962 and it was there that he spent most of his life. Mike worked "the rigs" for many years and in the construction field. It was while he worked the rigs that he suffered injuries that would affect him throughout his adult life. Not one to complain (much), diabetes and these injuries took a toll on him. Four years ago, Mike lost part of a leg due to infection, and in the last months of his life, could be seen travelling thoughout Barrhead on his scooter. After having limited mobility, Micheal found a new sense of freedom and independence with his scooter. Micheal was a generous soul and would give you "the shirt off his back" if he felt the need. His generosity was well known as was his love of a good time. Micheal was predeceased by his loving parents, John Skwarchuk and Alice and Carman Baragar.
