He was BORN 12/24/1902 in Gause to M/M Matthew C. & Nancy McCarthy Rogers. He was a bridge builder for the county and a farmer. He was in the construction business for 22 years. He had been a resident of Rockdale for the past 40 years and formerly a Gause resident for 47 years. Married E.D. Baxter on 7/28/1930 in Gause. Preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Roger Allison, 3 brothers, Tom Rogers, Dick Rogers and Robert Rogers; 6 sisters, Polly Favors, Ellie Blackman, Tress Mosley, Elizabeth Rogers and 2 infant sisters. Member of the Baptist Church.

Rogers of Rockdale; 2 sons, Oliver of Calvert and Ernest Rogers of Lancaster, CA.; 2 daughters, Jewel Allison of Irving and Nelda Hamilton of Windsor Locks, CT.; 9 grandchildren, Randy and Ray Allison, Darla Gravatt, Daisy, David and Ron Rogers, Jay and Jennifer Hamilton, Thersa Mueller; 5 great-grandchildren.
