John Peter Corson, who went by Pete, died July 7, 2021 from a brain injury sustained in an accidental fall. He was 60 years old. Pete was a California native and born in Corning, California and he graduated from West High School in 1979 and received his Associate Degree from Bakersfield College. Pete was the owner and operator of South Valley Transpiration, Inc. in Bakersfield for over twenty years and was in the trucking industry for over 30 years.

Pete is survived by his is wife Rita; step-daughter Michelle Neasbitt (Jim); mother Sylvia; brother Thomas (Michelle); sister, Mary McAllister (Lloyd) and nephews, Justin, Jack, and Gavin; several uncles, aunts, cousins, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Preceding Pete in death were his father John, twin brother Philip and his younger brother Stephen.

Pete traveled to Europe and spent a summer in England. He enjoyed the ocean and an annual trip to Hawaii. Pete loved fishing and the outdoors, was a history buff and a huge Raiders fan. Pete had a kind heart and many friends that will miss him. At his death, his tissue and organs were donated for transplant.

A private graveside service will be held in Modesto, California and a celebration of life will take place in the future. Tax deductible memorial gifts may be directed and payable to the Kern County Network for Children, 1300 17th St., Bakersfield, CA 93301 to support the Dream Center's foster youth, emancipated youth and homeless youth.
