Born in Pottstown, PA, on September 9, 1926, Gertie was the daughter of the late Morgan & Lizzie (Moser) Ludy.
Gertie loved to work in the yard planting various kinds of flowers, especially roses and heavenly blue morning glories. Gertie also enjoyed knitting and crocheting; she was known for creating a wide array of granny square blankets. Gertie could always be found in her kitchen cooking and baking for her family and friends. Most importantly she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who cherished every moment spent with her loved ones.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Randall Pace, Gregory (& Karen) Pace, Donna (& Robert) McConnell, and Bernadette Groff Pace; her sister, Mary J. Kehl; fourteen grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Gertie is predeceased by her sons, Ronald Pace and Anthony Pace; and her five brothers and one sister.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, from 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Houck & Gofus Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 955 N. Charlotte St., Pottstown, PA 19464. A Life Celebration will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place after the service at Highland Memorial Park.
