Sarah Harris died sometime after the 1900 U. S. Census.

She was born in McMinn County, Tennessee in 1819, the daughter of Larkin and Frances (Hester) Rutherford.

She was married twice:

1) She and Asberry "Berry" Dodd were married March 19, 1840 in McMinn County, Tennessee. They had six children, Susan Louise (b.1844), Sarah A. (b.1846), Julius (b.1848), Nancy (b.1850), Robert (b.1855) and William (b.1858).

In the August 1860 census, she and her children were listed in the home of her younger brother, Robert and his family in Washington County, Arkansas. Berry was not listed with her, he may have died in March 1860 in Saline County, Arkansas.

2) She and William Milton Harris were married October 19, 1873 in Washington County, Arkansas (after the death of his wife). He died in 1876.

She was listed In the 1900 census with her daughter, Susan Drain and her family.

Burial is thought to be in the Mount Salem Cemetery.
