Obituary
Mary Ann McMearn was born October 21, 1947 to Annie B Jarnigan and Walter Horace Brewer Sr., in Clinton, TN.

She attended and graduated from Clinton High in 1965. After graduation she relocated to Colorado Springs, CO where she later met and married her husband James Henry McMearn on December 22, 1965. The two shared many years together until his passing in May 2016.

Mary worked in finance as a teller, financial advisor and a loan officer. The two later opened the McMearn Mortuary where she served as owner, operator, and funeral director for many years.

Mary was baptized at an early age. In 1972, Mary and Rev. McMearn started a ministry they called the prayer band which later became the New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church. Mary served this ministry faithfully being a supportive wife and first lady until their retirement. Upon retiring from ministry Mary continued to be an active participant in the ministries of New Jerusalem.

She is preceded in death by both her parents. Her loving husband Pastor Emeritus James H. McMearn. Her brother Walter Horace Brewer Jr., and sister Sharon Brewer.

She leaves to cherish her memory children, Elizabeth McMearn and James McMearn (Vicky). Grandchildren, Elijah, Delana, MaKiya and baby McMearn. Her siblings, Ernestine Fay Brewer-Wingate (Roosevelt Marshall), Duane Joseph Brewer, Deborah Lynn Brewer. Her aunt Ruth E. Johnson and Uncle Rev. Samuel Jarnigin. Her adopted daughter Ruth Aiken (Chuck). A host of cousins, other relatives and close friends.
