William Beecher Family: William J Beecher, son of Clarence R and Addie Beecher, came to Errol in 1902 from N Stratford. In 1907 he married Rose Plante from Berlin. They had two sons, Clarence L and Homer. William, best known as "Bill," was a carpenter and builder. He built over the Errol school, built the town library, bridges, and many houses in town. In 1933 both "Bill's" parents died and two years later he moved to Colebrook and bought a construction business there. Homer married Agnes Thorn of Berlin and lived in Errol until 1946 when he moved to Colebrook and joined his father in business. Clarence left Errol in 1929 and now (1974) lives in California. William J "Bill" Beecher died in 1966 and Rose Plante Beecher is now (1974) 83 years of age.
