Alvin S. Cassard, 77, of 126 Albert, died at 12:25 p.m. Thursday in Schumpert Medical Center after a long illness.
A native of Donaldsonville, Mr. Cassard had lived in Shreveport 54 years. He was a retired manager for Kansas City Southern Railways Co. and a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Osborn Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Church with the Rev. Murry Clayton officiating. Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Emma Cassard; a son, Rodney Cassard of Houston, Tex.; two sisters, Mrs. E. J. Mollere of San Antonio, Tex., and Mrs. Alfred Diez of Donaldsonville, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Steve Cassard, John Cassard, Paul Cassard, Tommy Cassard,
Earl Wilkinson, Louis Tregel, Richard Coco and Lawrance Mollere.
