Andrew "Andy" J. Prom, age 33, of Rochester, died on Thursday, July 8th, 2021. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 20th, at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester MN 55901. The visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, July 19th at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Homes, and again one hour prior to the service. The burial will be in Oakwood East Cemetery in Rochester.
Andrew John Prom was born on July 7, 1988, in St. Cloud, Minn., to Harry and Deborah (Kieke) Prom. He graduated from Studio Academy High School in 2007 and studied art at St. Mary's University. Andrew loved to spend his time outdoors among nature and especially enjoyed hiking, camping, fishing, snowboarding, biking, and kayaking and was a talented artist. He was a kind and giving person and brought joy and laughter to all those around him.
Andrew is survived by his girlfriend, Brandy Shafer; father, Harry Prom of Sauk Rapids; stepfather, Brian Hain of Rochester; siblings, Olivia Walesch of St. Michael, Melinda (Alex Heinke) Prom of N.Y., Matthew Prom of St. Joseph, Daniel Prom of Rochester, Maria (Miguel Illanes Rondón) Prom of Boston; step-siblings, Adam (Lynn Dammen) Hain of Rochester, Jennifer (Darren) Cafourek of Rochester, and Julie (Ryan) DeCorsey of Millville; nieces and nephews, Trinity, Aurora, Jadelyn, Sophie, Isaiah, Landyn, Camara, Elam, Mila, Oliver, and Kynleigh; many extended family.
Andrew was preceded in death by his mother, Deborah (Kieke) Hain; stepfather, Ray Tuholsky; paternal grandparents, Leo and Frances (Gapinski) Prom; maternal grandparents, Gerald and Mary (Turner) Kieke.
