Verla was a retired realtor/broker for Irvington Realty and Management Company. She was a member of Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Maryville. Verla had a good memory and enjoyed watching game shows and traveling with her husband, Dennis, and their family to Nova Scotia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leander Pruitt and Zola (nee McKinney) Bosserman; two brothers, Ronnie and Donnie; and a sister, Virginia.
She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Dennis Hooker, whom she married February 17, 1962; two sons, Timothy (Laura) Hooker of Mt. Sterlington, OH and Stephen Hooker of Cherokee Village, AR; three daughters, Carleen (Daniel) Pitkin of Highland IL, Maureen (Steve) Lane of Collinsville and Kimberly Haddix of Indianapolis, IN; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 2pm on Friday, July 16, 2021 at St. Catherine Cemetery in New Grand Chain, IL.
