Dora Lee Balden, 93, formerly of Harrodsburg, widow of John Balden, died Friday, October 16, 1998 at the Hospice Center in Highland. Born September 6, 1905 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late James and Eddie West Sexton. She was a retired Mercer County teacher and was a member of the Mercer Retired Teachers Association, the Kentucky Retired Teachers Association, and the National Retired Teachers Association. She was also a Kentucky Colonel and a member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church. Survivors include: one daughter, Mrs. Jack (Dorothy) Williamson, Highland, IN; two sisters, Ada Murdock, Louisville, and Viola Worley, Cincinnati; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 21, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Dr. David Hartman officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
