She was born to parents James McGowan and Eliza Christopher on June 5, 1954 in Lafayette, IN.
Sharon enjoyed doing projects, sewing, gardening, and doing crafts with her grandkids. When asked what her proudest moments were, she quickly said her four children and being a mom. Her grandchildren (Dylan, Mason, Braxton, Amelia, Dakota, Chloe, and Landen) were her entire world. Family was everything to Sharon and she would do anything she could to help anyone in need.
Sharon is preceded in death by her mother and father, James, and Eliza McGowan; a brother, Michael McGowan; a sister, Donna McGowan; and a niece, Shelena Gayler along with her baby, Jensen Gayler.
Surviving is a brother, Rick McGowan, wife Bonita; and a sister, Colleen O'Neill, husband Patrick; along with many nieces and nephews.
Sharon's family takes comfort knowing she loved the Lord and will be her loved ones and endure no more suffering in this world.
"The bottom line is", she never wanted a traditional funeral service and always wanted everyone to tell stories; to remember the good times; to live life! There will be a graveside service for family and close friends and a Celebration of Life to follow at her home. This was Sharon's wish.
Celebration of Life: 1 pm, July 19, 2021, 4388 Lake Villa Ln, West Lafayette, IN 47906.
