June Holder
January 14, 1932 - March 4, 2022
Obituary by Martin-Dugger Funeral Home

Almeda "June" (Brown) Holder, 90, of Elk City, Oklahoma, was born on January 14, 1932, at the home of her Aunt Esta Mae in Foss, Oklahoma, to Carl Marion and Susie Lettie Jane (Hoffman) Brown. She entered Heaven on March 4, 2022, in Elk City, where she began her first day of praising her Lord and Savior for the next ten thousand years.

She attended Foss Elementary School until the family moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, for a short time. The family soon returned to Clinton, Oklahoma, where June attended school from fourth grade through high school. June worked for McLellan Five and Dime until she married Ellis Holder on January 7, 1951. June worked on the family farm and dairy and drove a school bus for Hammon Public Schools. In 1970, they purchased the Davis Packing Plant renaming it Holder Packing Plant, where she often worked from 7 am to 7 pm wrapping meat and doing bookkeeping.
June attended the First Assembly of God Church in Elk City for over fifty years teaching Sunday School, ministering to widows, and driving the church van. June had a servant heart, going on over eleven mission trips all over the world, where she fell in love with the people of each country. June enjoyed reading and family gatherings. She loved the mountains of Colorado and was happiest when spending time on her property, near Fairplay, Co. She was a talented seamstress, a great cook, and a wonderful mother, often saying she lived for her children.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm, Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at Gateway Church in Elk City, Oklahoma. Ricky Muno will officiate, assisted by Rev. Chasten Musick, Levi Sweetin, and DeLeassa Penland. Interment will be at Fairlawn Cemetery, Elk City, Oklahoma. Services have been entrusted to the care of Richard and Tammy Dugger and the staff of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home in Elk City, Oklahoma.

Cherishing her memory are her children, Carl Holder of Elk City, Oklahoma, Robert Holder and his companion Sandy of Elk City, Oklahoma, Deanna Sweetin and her husband Terry of Montrose, Colorado, Treasa Schutt and her husband Richard of Elk City, Oklahoma; her brother, Marshall Brown (Evelyn); sisters, Lettie Roll (Ralph), Gail Muno, Sharon Delfeld (Ken); eleven grandchildren, Derek, Sarah, Charlotte, Alan, Jason, Levi, Paige, DeLeassa, Dana, RobertLee, and Jared; twelve great-grandchildren; her dear friend, Carolyn Morris, and special caregivers, Joe and Tamara Redd.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis; parents, Carl and Susie Brown; grandson, Christopher Sweetin; daughters-in-law, Lucy Holder and Janet Holder; brother-in-law Clarence Muno.

The family would like to thank all of those that provided wonderful and loving care to June during her time of need. Special thanks to the Hospice workers from Comfort Hands Hospice in Elk City, Oklahoma.
