Aden L. "Jack" Hammen, Jr., 84, of Jefferson City, died Monday, May 26, 2003, at the Capital Region Medical Center.

He was born September 12, 1918, in Jefferson City, a son of Aden L. and Bessie Davis Hammen. He was married December 25, 1948, in Jefferson City, to Dorothy Ferguson, who survives at the home. He was a Bricklayer most of his life and worked for the Missouri Department of Corrections for eleven years until his retirement. He also worked on the Railroad. He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps, where he graduated from the Army Air Force Pilots Training School and received his wings in 1944. He was a member of the Bricklayers Union.

He is survived by two daughters: Susan Hammen of Jefferson City and Lori Henson of Lebanon; one brother: James O. Hammen of Jefferson City; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons: Larry Hammen in 1979 and Stephen Hammen in 1985; two brothers: Robert Hammen and Billy Hammen.

Friends will be received from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Directors - Jefferson City Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 2003, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Directors - Jefferson City Chapel. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Houser-Millard Funeral Directors - Jefferson City Chapel, 2613 West Main Street; 636-3838.
