Aden L. "Jack" Hammen, Jr., 84, of Jefferson City, died Monday, May 26, 2003, at the Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born September 12, 1918, in Jefferson City, a son of Aden L. and Bessie Davis Hammen. He was married December 25, 1948, in Jefferson City, to Dorothy Ferguson, who survives at the home. He was a Bricklayer most of his life and worked for the Missouri Department of Corrections for eleven years until his retirement. He also worked on the Railroad. He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps, where he graduated from the Army Air Force Pilots Training School and received his wings in 1944. He was a member of the Bricklayers Union.
He is survived by two daughters: Susan Hammen of Jefferson City and Lori Henson of Lebanon; one brother: James O. Hammen of Jefferson City; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons: Larry Hammen in 1979 and Stephen Hammen in 1985; two brothers: Robert Hammen and Billy Hammen.
Friends will be received from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Directors - Jefferson City Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 2003, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Directors - Jefferson City Chapel.
