Bert Clemons Snow was born in Hugo, Oklahoma, on February 21, 1922, the son of James Calvin Snow and Lola Lucretia Painter Snow. He grew up in the Shady Grove and Big Sandy areas of East Texas as the youngest of 10 children. His father was born in Texas and his mother was born in Georgia. Both are buried at Paron Cemetery. He is the grandson of William Manuel (Bill) Snow and Lurania Josephine (Lou) Mooney Snow, and of Thomas Jefferson (T.J.) Painter and Sarah Lucinda Evans Painter. The Snows came to Texas from the Roane, TN area in the mid 1800s and the Painters came from the Gilmer, GA area in the late 1880s.

His brothers and sisters were Gracie Dee Snow, Annie Ruth Snow, Jewell Snow (died in childhood), Almeria Beatrice Snow, Loureese Bernice Snow, Thomas Doyle Snow, Samuel M Snow, William M Snow, Frankie Mae Snow.

He joined the CCCs as a teenager, and then went into the Army where he served in WWII in Germany and Austria. Bert loved "learning" just about anything.

Bert's first marriage was to Margie Hogue in 1949. Bert and Margie had 3 daughters. He loved his family (both close family and distant relatives). He adored his wife, Virginia Seals Lubojaski, and her daughters. He loved investigating his family history (genealogy). He loved building things, his dogs, travel and East Texas.

Bert retired from LTV in Grand Prairie, Texas and moved with his wife, Virginia, to the country near Lindale, Texas where they lived happily until his health declined. They then moved to Dallas for a couple years and that is where he passed away at age 85. Burial was at Paron Church and Cemetery near Hawkins.
