ROZANSKI, WILLIAM IGNATIUS, JR., M.D.
Age 80, a Family Practice Physician for over 50 years of Glassboro, NJ died peacefully on November 13, 2007 after a brief illness with his family and friends by his bedside.
Raised in Plymouth, PA, Bill attended Plymouth High School and Bucknell Junior College before graduating from Hahnemann Medical College in 1949 at the age of 21. He was an army veteran of the Korean Conflict, where he served as a medical doctor. While in Korea, his claim to fame was treating Debbie Reynolds (who was performing for the troops on Christmas Eve), with a shot in the 'backside'. Fifty years later, she acknowledged him while performing at Harrah's in Atlantic City and thanked him for that medical care.
Dr. Rozanski was honored by the NJ Medical Society for 50 years of practicing medicine. He was one of the few physicians who still made house calls in the middle of the night. His patients fondly remember his prescriptions for chicken soup and orange popsicles.
Bill enjoyed the Eagles (as a season ticket holder since 1959), the Phillies and Penn State football. His passion was working in the yard and cooking. He loved spending time with the family, especially in Brigantine, with Harrah's a favorite destination until the week before he died.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Assumption Council #3397 and St. Anthony Mutual Aid Society.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Ethel Marie (Re) Joyce and his children Kathleen Schultes (Ed), William, Teresa Mancini (Albert), Michael (Kathy), Susan Laspata (Frank) and Mary; grandchildren: Chrissy, Eddie, Frankie, Kevin, Matt, Dante, Bill, Bryan, John, Anthony, Corey, Mark, Deanna, Michael, and Nick; and great grandchildren, Tyler and Emma. He is also survived by his brother, Dr. Lawrence Rozanski, of Glassboro, as well as countless relatives, friends and former patients.
