Carolyn Audra Simpson (Hill), 81, of Indianola, Iowa, passed quietly to the arms of her Lord and Savior on Monday, July 5, 2021. Carolyn, born on January 3, 1940, was the first of three children born to Maurice and Helen Hill of rural Decatur County, Iowa.

Carolyn grew up on the family farm, East of Pleasanton, and met another farm kid named Don Simpson. After graduating High School in 1958 she married that kid on June 21st, 1959. Soon after, she found herself a military wife with a new baby and two more that followed close behind. A fourth baby girl made a family of six in 1970.

Don and Carolyn made their home in Leon, then Slater, Huxley, Des Moines and enjoyed their later years on their acreage near Indianola. Carolyn's career included positions at Bankers Life in Des Moines, Decatur County State Bank, Decatur County Courthouse, Owner/Operator of the Beauty Barn, Principal Financial, and managed the Huxley Casey's and Video Place. Alongside Don, they owned and operated Don's Dairy Freeze and other businesses.
