Ethel M. WAGONER, 79, formerly of Argos, died at 2:35 p.m. Wednesday at Miller's Merry Manor at Plymouth following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Wagoner was born June 5, 1902 in Argos to Harvey and Rena LOCKWOOD PONTIUS and lived her entire life around Argos. Her mother died in 1905. In the 1910 census, she, her sister and father were living with her Lockwood grandparents, Seymour and Cornelia Lockwood. She married Byrum WAGONER on Sept. 3, 1919; he died June 3, 1944. She was a retired nurses' aide and a member of the Church of God at Plymouth.
Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Robert (Virginia) GARVER,Argos; Mrs. Leonarrd (Mary) BEEHLER, Grass Creek; Mrs. John (Pearl) GRIEWANK, LaGrange; Mrs. Gerald (Dorothy) ZAHNER, Argos; and Mrs. W. O. (Martha) BOUGHTON, Eufaula, Okla.; a son, James WAGONER, Woodland Hills, Calif.; twenty-five grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sylvia BUTLER, Culver.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Grossman Funeral Home in Argos with the Rev. Daniel P. TALBOT officiating. Burial will be in the Leiters Ford I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until the service Saturday.
