1878 - Arizona or Bust

This is the Diary kept by Billie Crawford, son-in-law of Alfred Gash, while crossing the plains from Collins, Missouri, to Camp Verde, Arizona.
Alfred Longmire Gash was the Wagon Master. His wife died in 1866 leaving him with seven children, Jane (Fain), William Gash, Mary (Crawford), Leah (Pace), John and Jim Gash and Lucinda (Phillips).
Jane was married to George Fain. They had four children - Susan, Mary and Minnie at the time of this trip. Also, Emma.
Mary Gash was married to Billie Crawford. They had two children - Jack and Ella.
The rest of Alfred Gash's family were single at the time of this trip.
The Gash's had two wagons and several head of cattle.
The Fains had their wagons and cattle and the Crawfords had their wagons and cattle.
She concludes: This is in loving memory of my father, William Garner Gash, my grandfather Alfred Gash, my aunts and uncles.
