Jesse McCoy, Jr. passed away on Thursday, July 1, 2021, in Abilene.
Jesse was born June 10, 1944, in Brady, TX to Lois and Jesse McCoy, Sr. After the loss of his father in World War II, Lois married Chester Beam of Mason, TX and their family grew to 5 boys. Jesse was the eldest of the brothers, Winston, Kenny, Chester, and Lester. According to many campfire stories at the hunting camp, he led many mischievous adventures in Central and West Texas with his four brothers and dear friend Phillip Cates. He was blessed to be a part of a loving and deeply devoted family that taught him to be the fine son, husband, father, and grandfather that he would become.

Jesse married his high school sweetheart, Connie on September 6, 1966. Jesse and Connie had one son, Shane while still in West Texas, and then moved to south Louisiana where they had a second son, Justin. Jesse was a wonderful example of a devoted husband and father, working hard to provide for and raise his family to love God and serve others when they were in need. Jesse and Connie were blessed with 6 grandchildren whom they loved dearly, Katlyn, Karena, Hadlea, Alaynah, Greighson, and Leighton. The same devotion they had for their son's activities amplified even more when they began chasing and cheering on their granddaughters. They were never short of bragging when it came to their beloved grandkids and spent much of their retirement time traveling to be there for them.

Jesse's primary role was a dad and husband, however, he will be equally remembered fondly as "Uncle Jesse"...that crazy uncle that loved to play and be involved in the outdoors with his many nieces and nephews. He was known for never meeting a stranger, especially in his oil field days, always enjoying a great conversation with the many close friends he made over the years.

Jesse was also a very devoted brother and always worked hard keeping the family in touch, meeting up regularly, and enjoying the true joys of life that only a close-knit family can bring. The many who knew him even briefly will carry fond memories of the wonderful example of a man that he was. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Sr., Chester, and Lois; brother, Winston, and his beloved wife of 50 years, Connie.
Visitation will be from 5-7 pm, Monday, July 5, 2021, at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at Adamsville Baptist Church with interment to follow at Hines Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Beam, Kevin Beam, Kyle Beam, Ryan Smith, Roy Stephens, Mark Mohler, honorary pallbearers will be Garrett Beam and Jordan Beasley.

Jesse is survived by his brothers, Kenny and wife, Jill, Chester and wife, Bobby, Lester, who recently lost his beloved wife, Brenda; sons, Shane and wife, Kayla and their daughters, Katlyn and Karena (expecting his 1st great grandbaby in a few weeks), Justin and wife, Windy and their daughters, Hadlea, Alayna and sons, Greighson and Leighton; nephews and their spouses, Chris and Lori Beam, Kevin and Heather Beam, Toby and Rhonda Wilson, Roy and Charla Stephens, Kyle and Becky Beam, Mark and Cassandra Mohler, Daulton and Liz Beam, Leslie Beam, Ryan and Brandy Smith, Kayla Beam, Jim and Jamie Kirk, Lee and Lee Durrett, Callie Sanders, Michelle Champion; cousins, Johnny and Liz McCoy, Hal and Betty King and Gracie Cockrell.
