York - Alberta Arlene (Sterner) Meldrum, 90, died on Wednesday June 30, 2021 at Manor Care South.
Alberta was born in Lancaster, PA on June 29, 1931. The daughter of the late Clyde and Ester Sterner.
Many knew her as Bert or Birdie, and Nan to all her grandchildren. She was a wonderful Mom and Nanny and will be missed.
Bert was a member of the former Temple Baptist Church in York.
Alberta was married to the late Thomas Daryman Meldrum, Jr. She had three children: Michael D. Meldrum and his wife Vickie, Kimberly Ann Jones who passed away in 2020, and Lisa M. Grogan and husband Jim.
Alberta was Nan or Nanny to her grandchildren: Michael, Jr., Christy, Michael, Sarah, Ben, Dusty, James, Carrie and Shawn. She has 12 great grandchildren: Isaiah, JT, Maria, Kaleb, Noah, Logan, Elijah, Lilah, Joanna, Caitlyn, Erinne and Max. She has one great great grandchild Arabella. She also leaves a nephew Steve McIlvain, the son of the late Connie McIlvain, Alberta's sister.
There will be a graveside service 11:00 AM Thursday July 8, 2021 at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens 250 Chestnut Hill Rd. York. Those attending will meet at the gate of the cemetery starting at 10:45 AM.
