ORA McENTARFER

Ora McEntarfer, son of George and Catherine McEntarfer, ws born August 10, 1892 on a farm northwest of Waterloo, Indiana and died in the Cameron hospital, Angola, Indiana, September 1, 1956, at the age of 64 year and 22 days, after being admitted there only a few hours earlier.
He was married to Goldia Straw April 26, 1919 and to the union were born six sons an seven daughters. One son,George, was killed October 2, 1944, while serving his country in the invasion of Leyte Isle in the Philippines.
Ora was a veteran of Won War I. He had been in failing health for the past two years but with his determination was able to assume his duties at Tri State College, where he was employed until a short time before his death. At times his suffering, was almost unbearable but he endured it patiently. He was of quiet disposition liked among his fellow men and all who knew him, and was a kind and loving husband and father.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Goldia; seven daughters, Mrs. Robert Hull, Mrs. Joseph Ross, of Angola, Mrs.William Burkhalter, Mrs. Norman Burkhalter and Mrs. Cora Bercot, of Fort Wayne; Mrs. Merle Timmons of Chicago, an Mrs. John Fitch of Owossó Michigan; five sons, Clyde and Russell of Ashley, Henry of South Bend, Robert of Fort Wayne, and Lloyd in the service; a stepson, Harold Straw of Albion; a stepdaughter, Helen Johnson of Ashley; 29 grandchildren ; a sister, Mrs. Fred Campbell of Detroit; a brother, Harry McEntarfer, of Pleasant Lake; a half-sister, Mrs. Earl Hevel of Angola; a half-brother, Charlie Metzger of Waterloo, and many relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 2 P.M. September 5 in the Weicht Funeral Home, with Richard Burton, pastor of the Church of Christ, officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Lake cemetery with military graveside services conducted by Angola Post 31 of the American Legion.
