Eleanore H. Tepler
October 14, 1922 - January 4, 2023

Born on the family farm in Rosholt, WI to the late Adam and Mary Bushman, Eleanore was 1 of 11 children. At the young age of 15, she moved to Chicago, IL to find employment. Eventually, she met and married Elmer Tepler on October 14, 1944. They had 4 daughters, Sharon, Christine, Laurene, and Cindy. They continued to live and work in Chicago. In 1960 they bought 5 acres, built a lovely home and moved to McHenry, IL, eventually moving to Genoa City, WI. Elmer preceded her in death on October 18, 2008.

In her 100 years on this earth, Eleanore survived the Great Depression from 1929-1939, which caused her to be creative in ways to reuse and repurpose. She waitressed for many years and owned her own catering business for 8 years. During that time, she published 2 cookbooks, which many family and friends continue to use and enjoy today.

Among her many talents were baking, gardening, canning, creating quilts, sewing customized Christmas stockings and tree skirts for all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her favorite activities included league bowling, dancing, line dancing, card playing, walking, and reading novels. She acquired her GED at the age of 62 from a local college and was very proud of that accomplishment. She was always volunteering her time and talents to the church and nursing homes, sewing lap blankets for the elderly, and 100 cloth school bags for underprivileged children in foreign countries. She enjoyed her travels to Europe, Israel, Hawaii and Mexico. She lived a full & active life to the end and was a lifelong Chicago Cub's fan (Go Cubbies!).

Eleanore is survived by her 4 daughters, Shari Ehrlich of Genoa City, WI; Chris Peterson, of McHenry, IL; Laurie Brummitt (Buck) of Cary, IL; Cindy Brademann (Wally) of Burlington, WI; 9 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Eleanore is survived by 3 sisters, Lorraine Wroblewski, Gene Lorbiecki, Pat Goretski, 1 brother, Rhody Bushman, and many nieces and nephews. Her final resting place will be at Windridge Memorial Park, Cary, IL with Elmer.

A Memorial Mass will be held, Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 10519 N. Main St., Richmond, IL 60071.
