Richard L. Waymire, age 76, of Anderson, passed away on Monday, June 28, 2021, at his residence. Dick was born in Elwood on June 3, 1945. He was the son of the late Warren and Irene (Grimm) Waymire.

Dick graduated from Frankton High School in the class of 1964. He attended Ball State and Purdue Universities. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for four years in Thailand. Dick retired from Guide Lamp in 2003, after working in many production areas and also skilled trades and machine repair. He was a certified private airplane pilot and served on the police force in Frankton and Orestes for several years. Dick was an avid and competitive tennis player, playing in many tennis tournaments for 30 years.

Dick is survived by his wife Imelda (Lugo) Waymire of Anderson; brother, Thomas (Anita) Waymire; nephew, Michael (Michele) Waymire; great-nephew, Brandon (Abby) Waymire; special friend, Paul (Reggie) Weir; stepson, Dan Oonjai; half-brother, Terry Waymire; half-brother; Danny Waymire; and several cousins.

Along with his parents, Dick was preceded in death by his two sons, Richard L. Waymire, Jr., and Adam Waymire.

Visitation will be Tuesday July 6, 2021, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, at Harper & Dunnichay Funeral Home, Frankton Chapel. Funeral service celebrating Dick's life will be conducted at 1:00 pm Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at Harper & Dunnichay Funeral Home, with Pastor Jerry Alexander officiating. Burial will follow in the K. of P. and I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Frankton.
