Mary Katherine "Kathy" Campbell, 72, Yates Center, KS, died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007, in Burlington, Kansas.
She was born Oct. 25, 1934, in Greenwood County, Kansas, near Hamilton, to Guy and Carrie (McCoy) Alsop.
She grew up in Greenwood County and attended school there until her father's death in 1950. Then, the family moved to Yates Center, KS, where she graduated from high school in 1952.
She married R. Dale Campbell at Iola, Kansas, on March 20, 1952.
She was a 50-year member of Golden Rod Chapter #163 O.E.S. and a member of Chapter CH P.E.O., a member of First Christian Church at Yates Center, she taught Sunday school for more than 45 years and worked in other aspects of the church.
She was co-owner with her husband of Campbell Funeral Home in Yates Center and was a licensed Kansas funeral director until their retirement in 1991.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; two daughters, JoAnn and her husband Lynn Osburn, Gridley, KS, and Jana and her husband Steve Goebel, Yates Center, KS; one son, James Campbell and his wife Tracy, Burlington, KS; six grandchildren, Mark and Tricia Goebel, Cameron and Courtney Osburn and Joel and Alex Campbell; and numerous friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, three sisters and two brothers.
Funeral was Saturday at First Christian Church under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home. Interment followed at Yates Center Cemetery.
