Daughter of Joseph C Stein and Barbara Heinold Stein

On April 30, 1907, Lizette married Charles Bauman. In February 1912, she started divorce proceedings alleging physical and mental abuse. The divorce was dismissed but she was granted alimony at $3.00 per week.

In April 1912, she went back to court with new grounds, accusing that Charles had only paid $15 in 3 months. She told the judge that word came to her that he was bragging of the type of abuse he did to her saying that no one would want her to marry her now.

Lizette added to her grounds that she learned that Charles made advances in 1909 toward her 15 year old cousin (unnamed). The judge granted a divorce in June 1912. The couple did not have any children.

Charles Bauman died on May 16, 1918. He was buried in the Bauman plot at Saint Stephen Cemetery in Fort Thomas, Campbell County, Kentucky.

The 1920 census shows Lizette as divorced and was using the name Henrietta L. Stein. However, the 1930 and 1940 census show her as a widow.

In 1940, Lizette was working as Henrietta L. Stein, living in Los Angeles, California and renting a domicile on South Hope Street for $18 per month. She was working as a maid in private homes. Her salary was $480 for the year 1939.

Lizette died on March 18, 1958 in Los Angeles, California and was cremated.
