FORMER GILMORE MINER COMMITS SUICIDE

Despondent over domestic trouble, Joseph Dudley, 39 an ex-policeman of Jasonville, a former resident of Gilmour and a son of Alvin Dudley, a well-known resident of Cass township committed suicide about nine o'clock Friday night in his room at Jasonville, by shooting himself in the heart with a revolver. He was dead when found about a half hour after he committed the act. A divorced wife and four children survive him.

Dudley moved to Jasonville about a year ago, having accepted a position on the police force. Up to that time he had been employed as miner at Gilmour.

Three months ago he had trouble with his wife and she was given a divorce. Since that time he is said to have brooded over his trouble, and the loss of his position as a member of the police force.

Relatives in Cass Township were notified of his death Saturday morning and went claim the body, which will be brought home and buried Sunday in the Antioch Cemetery. Dudley was a grandson of the late Joseph Pigg formerly a prominent Cass township famer, and was related to William Powell formerly of Sullivan.
