He was born January 25, 1942, in Galesburg to Melvin and Doris (Curtis) Gray.
Surviving is his caregiver, Deborah Harvey of Galesburg, a niece Christine Claeys of Galesburg, and three nephews Matt (Amy) Gray, Shawn Gray, and Terry Gray. He was preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers Eric Gray, and Terry Gray.
Gary graduated from Galesburg High School in 1960.
