She was born November 16, 1929 in Wilkes County to Jessie Dewey and Lou Bellva Pearson Broyhill.
Mrs. Carlton was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Conrad Carlton; three brothers, Raymond, Fred and Jim Broyhill; and sister, Esther Crump.
Surviving are her daughter, Wanda Carlton Edsel of Boomer; son, Larry Carlton and wife Margaret of Lenoir; two sisters, Fanny Triplett and husband Lloyd of Boomer, Hassie Davis of Lenoir.
Services will be private.
