She met Clarence Vernon Mangrem in Merkel, TX. C.V. went to his sister's (Gladys?) to see about a preacher for the marriage, because the Baptist preacher was not home. Soon a preacher came out of a neighbor's home and the couple were married in the back seat of his Model T automobile. C.V. moved to Wichita Falls in 1918 from Seymour, Texas. She was a homemaker and a member of the Floral Heights Church of Christ.
