Andrew Lane Emery, 87, of Mountain Grove, Mo., passed away Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007. He was born on Dec. 4, 1919, in Douglas County, Mo., the son of Jonathan and Rosa (Hodges) Emery. Lane was united in marriage to Sadie Genevieve Coble and to this union, four children were born, Lane Leroy, Rosa Catherine, Donna Louise and Janice Lee. He spent several years working in the shipyards and orchards on the west coast. After returning to Missouri, he worked in construction, operating a bulldozer. Lane lived for the outdoors – gardening, hunting and fishing. He really enjoyed coon hunting and training coon dogs. Lane was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sadie Genevieve; his son, Lane Leroy Emery; four brothers; four sisters and two grandchildren. He is survived by three daughters, Rosa Catherine Grogan of Elk Creek, Mo., Donna Louise Hannebohn and husband, Charles of Turon, Kan., and Janice Lee Lawson of Mountain Grove, Mo.; 13 grandchildren; numerous great- and great-great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Graveside services were at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, at the Vanzant Cemetery with Bud Scherer officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool, Mo.
