William Luffman, Comdg, 11th Ga Regt., "Sir, In consequence of ill health I hereby tender my resignation to the government respectfully soliciting that it be forwarded through the proper military channel to the War Department. Very Respectfully, H. B. Lipsey, 1st Lt. Com B, 11th Ga Vols" [Docketing on the back of this letter reads, "Hd. Qtrs, 11th Ga, Oct 20, 63, Appd. and respectfully forwarded. I respectfully ask that the resignation be recd as Lieut Lipsey has been unable to perform the duty of his office for many months in consequence of feeble health. F. H. Little, Col., Comdg Rgt."
