Earl "Woodie" Abbott, 91, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, June 24, 2021 in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
He was born on April 8, 1930 in Poteau, Oklahoma to Dero W. and Lois (Addison) Abbott.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Era. Woodie was the owner and operator of both Capri Auto Sales and Frontier Auto Sales.

He was preceded in death by his wife Beatrice Abbott, a step daughter, JoAnn DeHart; three brothers, Hank, Charlie and Sam Abbott, a sister, Bonnie Allen; a grandson, Joe Schoening; and a great grandson, Joe Schoening, Jr.

He was a faithful member of Evangel Temple Church. Woodie loved anything to do with cars and old country music and was the promoter and manager of the Abbott Family Band. Woodie loved his family and friends and in turn they loved him.

Funeral services with honors are 2:00PM, Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home in Fort Smith. A private burial will follow the service.

He is survived by his two sisters, Reba Abbott and Dora Abbott Escobar both of Fort Smith; his step son in law, Larry DeHart of Van Buren; four grandchildren, David Schoening of Van Buren, Diana (Mark) Kulak of Cedarville, AR, Pamela Vaughn of Van Buren and Sandra (Kenneth) Murphy of Cedarville; 12 great grandchildren and 17 great-great grandchildren.
