Joyce L. Barber, age 51, of Independence, passed away Saturday, May 22, 2021, at Labette Medical Center in Parsons, KS.
A memorial celebration of life will be held Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Zach Webb Family Funeral Service, 1475 S. 10th, Independence, KS 67301. The family will greet friends beginning at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Animals With Our Love (AWOL) and sent to the funeral home.
Joyce Louise Barber was born September 5, 1969 in Independence, KS, to Sam and Rita (Harrell) Smith. She grew up in Independence and attended local schools. In 1987 she married James Chaput and later divorced. She was a homemaker and baby sitter. She also assisted adults with disabilities. She had attended the Wesleyan Church. She married Larry Barber in 2014 and he survives.

Five grandchildren, Anthony, Caitlynn, Braedyn, Lillyan and Hunter. Sister, Juanita Wilson, Homewood, AR.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Rita Smith.
