Jack Doyle Mulanax, 74, died Monday, Jan. 13, 1997, at Indian Valley District Hospital in Greenville.
He was born Feb. 8, 1922, in Glen Cove, Texas. He was an Indian Valley resident for seven years, moving there from Vallejo.
He retired as a sergeant with the Vallejo Police Department after 25 years of service. Prior to entering the service, he worked as a rigger at Mare Island Naval Shipyard, returning to work there until joining the police force in 1950.
He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was a member of the Retired Peace Officers Association, and a former member of the Vallejo Elks Club.
He is a former amateur boxer who enjoyed all sports, especially baseball, where he pitched softball.
He is survived by his wife, Thelma, of North Arm; his sister, Lois Smallwood of Delhi; and two grandchildren.
Following cremation, private interment will take place in Vallejo.
