A long obituary appeared in the Passaic Daily News for the 92 year old father of Herman Arning, president of Peoples Bank and Trust Co. He was taken ill while on vacation and was transferred from Rhinebeck Hospital in NY to Passaic General to be treated for uraemic poisoning. A trained furrier, he arrived in NYC and continued on in the fur business, mainly as a purchaser of skins. He moved to Rutherford about 30 years ago. HIs wife Emma passed away 15 years ago. He was survived by two sons, Alfred and Herman with whom he lived and a daughter Freida.
