'Mr. East Highlands', Henry Cram, prominent member of a pioneer East Highlands family long associated with the citrus industry, died unexpectedly at his home on Water Street. He was 69.
Cram had managed his extensive citrus holdings in East Highlands, Bloomington and Rialto since his return from Army duty following World War I.
He was president of the North Fork Water Co. for the past seven years, having served on the board of directors since its organization from the Cram-Van Louven Water Co.
He was on the board of directors of the Bear Valley Mutual Water Co. and also served on its land committee.
Cram had recently been re-elected to his seventh term as vice president of the Gold Buckle Association packing house. He had served as a director off and on for many years previously.
A 1912 graduate of Redlands High School, Cram attended the University of Redlands for a year and then went to Stanford University, where his education was interrupted by the war. He served as a sergeant in England.
He was a member of the Redlands Elks Lodge, Chapter 77 of the Royal Arch Masons and Masonic Lodge 300, both of Redlands, and the Al Malaikah Temple of Los Angeles. He was a member of Highland Congregational Church.
Cram was a grandson of Lewis Cram, generally regarded as the founder of the citrus industry in East Highlands. His father was William Henry (Will) Cram.
Survivors include the widow, Henrietta; a daughter, Margaret Cram Wright; a granddaughter, Lisa Alison Wright, all of East Highlands; and an uncle, James E. Cram of Greenspot.
Service at Grove Colonial Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. W. John Parker, pastor of the Highland Congregational Church officiating. Burial in Mt. View Cemetery.
