Hazel Bernice Mitchell, 75, of Crosbyton passed away Monday, June 14, 2021 with her loving family by her side. Bernice was born November 16, 1945 in Quanah, TX to Hoyt and Hazel Brumalow Barnard. She was a 1963 graduate of Ralls High School. She married Willard Vance Mitchell on June 4, 1963 in Ralls, TX.

Bernice was a licensed minister with the Assemblies of God and worked along side her husband in pastoral ministry for many years. Their ministries took them to Cedar Hill Community, Charles City, IA, Cache, OK, Walters, OK Ralls, TX and Floydada, TX where they pastored for 19 years. She was an accomplished pianist and singer.

She is survived by her husband, Vance of Crosbyton; two daughters, Sandra Hutcheson and husband Rodney of Norman, OK, and Virginia Smith and husband William of Edmond, OK; five grandchildren, Abigail, Audra and Evan Smith all of Edmond, OK, Rosalyn Fraysur and husband Jarek of Lindsey, OK, and Karsten Hutcheson of Norman, OK; three great-grandchildren, Annie, Owen, and Ava Fraysur; three sisters, Sharon Green of Amarillo, Patsy Barnes of Duncan, OK and Darlene Brown and husband Curt of Gracemot, OK; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family suggests memorials to First Assembly of God Church, 112 N. Durham, Crosbyton, TX 79322; or Trinity Assembly of God Church, 500 Houston St., Floydada, TX 79235.

Visitation will be 6-8 PM, Friday, June 18, 2021 at First Assembly of God Church in Crosbyton. Funeral Service will be 2 PM, Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Trinity Assembly of God Church in Floydada with Rev. Rodney Hutcheson and William D. Smith officiating. Interment will be in Crosbyton Cemetery.

Services are under the care and direction of Adams Funeral Home in Crosbyton.
