M. Marie Malinowski

NORFOLK - Myrtle Marie Malinowski, 84, of Dunway Street, died June 15, 2002, at Thornton Hall. She was born the daughter of Calvin and Nora Jones in Ayden (formerly Clayroot), N.C. She was the fourth of 14 children.

She was preceded in death by her parents and eight of her brothers and sisters and is survived by her devoted husband of 46 years, Adam ''Ski'' Malinowski of Norfolk; a stepdaughter, Sandra Jarvy and her husband, John, of Oconto, Wis.; a brother, J.C. Jones and his wife, Joyce, also of Ayden; four sisters, Beulah Haddock of Ayden, Margie Kaminski of Newport News, Estelle James of Chesapeake, and Pandora Forrest and her husband, Kelly, of Ayden; her grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Marie lived most of her life in Norfolk. She was a faithful wife, an avid homemaker and for a brief time employed as a waitress at the former Colony House on 35th Street and Colonial Avenue in Norfolk. Loyal and caring to those who knew her, she was loved.

The funeral will be held at noon Tuesday in the chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home and Crematory, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Family and friends may join Ski at the funeral home for visitation and remembrance beginning at 11 a.m., with a reception in the funeral home following the committal service. You may visit Ski at his residence at any time.
