Sgt. U.S. Army, {RA16871722},Vietnam War-Sgt. Dawson was killed in action by small arms fire during TET-68 on 2-4-1968 while serving as a light Weapons Infantryman with Co. C of the 1st Battalion, 501st Infantry Regiment, 101st Infantry Division. Sgt. Dawson started his tour of Vietnam on 12-17-1967.

He is the son of Mr. John Dawson of 1111 West 60th Place, Chicago, Illinois, and Mrs. Addie B. Dawson of 445 East 45th Place, Chicago.

Awards: Purple Heart Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Vietnam Service Medal with One Service Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal.
