Mrs. James Lowery died at 5:30 o'clock this (Friday) morning at her home two miles east of Dixon on the river road. the cause of her death was pneumonia, from which she had been ill for the past four weeks.
Mrs. Lowery's maiden name was Mary Ann Curran and she was born in New York city 54 years ago the third of last July, When 7 years she came to Dixon with her parents and this was her home until she was married in 1866 to James Lowery. They moved to a farm in Harmon township and lived there until six years ago when they returned to make their home near Dixon.
Her husband died four years ago and Mrs. Lowery leaves to mourn their loss three sons and four daughters; Thomas, John and James, all living at home; Mrs. Will Green living a mile east of Dixon and Misses Kate, Anna, and Sarah at home. She also leaves six brothers, Thomas Curran of Monroe, Wis., and Daniel, William, Hugh, John and Joseph Curran Dixon as well as two sisters, Mrs. Peter Phalen and Mrs. Simon O'Neil who also live in Dixon.
Mrs. Lowery was well known in this vicinity and her loss will be felt by many friends.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon, at 2 o'clock at the house and 3 o'clock at St. Patrick's church in this city.
