Norma Lee Nichols, 65, of the Harpers Valley Community, died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007, at her home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Kiowa First Baptist Church with the Rev. Craig Cochran officiating. Burial will be at Harpers Valley Cemetery, west of Kiowa. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service of McAlester. Born June 22, 1942, in Harpers Valley, she was the daughter of Levi Amos and Bulah (Patton) Hall. She was raised and attended schools in Harpers Valley and the Kiowa area. She married Royce Nichols on June 25, 1960, in Harpers Valley. She was a homemaker and a member of the Harpers Valley Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, beadwork and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Gerald Goddard, of Kiowa; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gordon and Lisa Nichols, of Harpers Valley, and Ron and Kathy Nichols, of Pittsburg; two brothers, George Hall, of Kiowa, and James and Lee Hall, of Harpers Valley; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Raymond Darrell, of Kiowa, Billie and Roy Bass, Grand Prairie, Texas, Janelle Richardson, of the home, and Joy Smith and Joe Weatherly, of the home; six grandchildren, Tray Goddard, Ashley Nichols, Clayton Nichols, Katie Nichols, Branton Nichols and wife, Christina, and Kara Hall; two great-grandchildren, Shaylee Nichols and Weston Sexton, and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Gary Hatridge, Roy Hatridge, Phil Hatridge, Rex Hatridge, Matt Williams and Devan Hall. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Gill, David Hall, Johnny Thomas, Lewis Hall and Roger Hatridge. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Royce Nichols; a brother, Roger Hall, and a sister, Betty Franco.
