Mr. Robbin, his father Harry, and his brother Jack, owned and operated the landmark deli, which was on Windsor Street next to the old State Theater. The restaurant was frequented by entertainers that included Arthur Godfrey, Tony Bennett, Gene Krupa and Lionel Hampton. The business later relocated to Main Street, near the former Strand Theater.
Mr. Robbin, who lived in West Hartford, was a graduate of Weaver High School, Class of 1934. He was an active member of the Beth David Synagogue of West Hartford, and a member of its board of directors. He also was a member of the Hartford Mutual Society.
Mr. Robbin leaves his wife, Anne; two children; a sister, Hilda Grossman of West Hartford; a brother, Joseph K. Robbin of Boca Raton, Fla.; and four grandchildren. Another daughter, Shirley Robbin Greenfield, died before him.
Burial will be in the Hartford Mutual Society Cemetery, Garden Street, Hartford.
