Frederick was the son of Joseph Harris and his wife Fanny Beebe. Frederick married Florence Payne on October 19, 1899 at Durham, Connecticut. Frederick and Florence had five children: Dellaphene; Beatrice; Lucy; Richard; and Marion. Frederick was a World War I Army veteran. He was a Private in Battery "E", 103rd Field Artillery, 26 Division of the American Expeditionary Forces.
