The Rev. J. B. Dunlap, 78, who was well known in the Bay region, died last night it has home in Los Gatos after a brief illness. Rev. Dunlap, who retired from active church work 10 years ago, was a Presbyterian Missionary in Siam for 40 years. The funeral services, according to Associated Press dispatches, will be held in Los Gatos tomorrow with the Rev. Stanley A. Hunter of St. John's Presbyterian Church, Berkeley, officiating. Reverend Dunlap was born in Blairsville, Pa. He was graduated from Washington-Jefferson College and the Western Theological Seminary. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Dunlap, and by two sons, James Ralph Dunlap. of Cuyahoga Falls, O., and George Dunlap of Oakland.

Dr. Dunlap was a native of Blairsville Pennsylvania. He was graduated in 1885 from Washington and Jefferson College and four years later from the Western Theological Seminary, leaving in the latter part of 1889 for Siam to start his long career of missionary work in that country. In 1928 he came to Los Gatos to retire. He was an honorary member of the Rotary club and the Los Gatos Flower Lovers club.
The funeral was conducted Saturday from the Methodist church under the auspices of the Melvin Directory. The Reverend E. C. Thomson assisted by Dr. Edward M. Sharp and the Reverend Doctor Stanley A. Hunter of St. John's Presbyterian church in Berkeley officiated at the services. The Pall Bearers were Carl S. Balch, George A. Green, Edward S. Yocco, Ralph Creffield, Lute White and Andrew Muir. A quartette from the Presbyterian Church Choir including Miss Fern Nuss, Edward S. Yocco, Herbert L. Roberts and Mrs. Samuelson sang "The Lord is My Shepherd' and "Our Blessed Redeemer"
Surviving relatives include: James Ralph Dunlap of Cuyahoga, Ohio, a son; George Herbert Dunlap of Piedmont, California, sons, Charles Dunlap and Robert E. Dunlap of Collinville, Tenn., brothers.
