EUGENE "BUD" CRAWFORD, 93, of Columbia City, died at 1:15 p.m., Friday, June 15, 2007 at The Oaks Living Center where he had been a resident since April 10th.
He was born October 1, 1913 in Paulding County, Ohio a son of George and Georgia (Bird) Crawford. He completed his education in the Paulding School System.
On February 15, 1935 he was united in marriage to Christine T. Ropp. They made their home in Fort Wayne, later purchasing a farm in Wells County. They continued farming when they moved to Jefferson Township, Whitley County. Following their retirement from farming, they moved to Columbia City.
He worked at Magnavox in Fort Wayne and retired from the Body & Fender Shop. Following his retirement, he owned and operated the Lake Trails Miniature Golf Course in North Webster.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Chris and a niece, Janet Freed of Fremont.
His sister, Isabel "Pat" Umbaugh, preceded him in death.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 18, 2007 at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. The burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. The visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
