Mrs. Martha Jane Bowman, the wife of John Isaac Bowman, Lawton residents since 1902, died at the family home, 410 H Avenue, at 7:15 this morning, following an extended illness. She was born in Yoderville, North Carolina, Feb 11, 1862, and moved to Tennessee, Missouri, and Kansas, where she met and was married to Mr. Bowman. Mrs. Bowman was active in the organization of the Beal Heights Presbyterian Church, and was a member of the First Presbyterian church at the time of her death. She was also a member ot the Royal Neighbors of America Lodge. Beside her husband, survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Mae Skidmore, route 4, Lawton: Mrs. Emma Bowman Wood, route 2, Lawton: three sons, Ray L, of Francis, Oklahoma, Garrett C, of Sapulpa, and Bryan C, of Lawton.
Other survivors are 10 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. Frank Hamilton of Partridge, Kansas, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Clara Sims of Hutchinson, Kansas, are here for the final rites. Services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Fridat at the First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. John H. Lamb, pastor, conducting the services.Burial in Highland Cemetery.
